7:172 And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" Hadith on Everyone Begins the Day as a Vendor of the Soul

On the authority of Abu Malik al-Harith bin Asim al-Asharee (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:

…. "Every person starts his day as a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or causing its ruin.” [Muslim]
