Working with various artists he was introduced to R&B singer Chico Debarge. Taking matters in his own hands he went Independent. Releasing “Poetic Love” he won the hearts of many. He won "Best Male Vocalist" in 2012. In 2013 he won "Indy Artist Of The Year". He also received "Vocalist/Poet Of 2015" & " 2016. Larie was presented with the Honorary "Luther Vandross Award".
