McG's Backroom 2.08 - Sets by Husker Du, PIL, Carlton Melton and Mogwai

McG plays 30-minute sets by four of his favorite bands. First, is an old school trip with vintage killer cuts by Husker Du from their hardcore years. That's followed by a blistering set of dissonance by Public Image Ltd., highlighting their "Flowers of Romance" years. Landing in the here and now, McG plays two of his fave contemporary bands, Carlton Melton, who excel at spacey, atmospheric jams and Mogwai, who lock into instrumental grooves that are buffered by ambient noise and gentle soundscapes.
