Control. Think. Execute.

Today is the anniversary of the D.C. Cherry Road Townhouse Fire of 99’, and our guest is Lieutenant Joe Morgan. On May 30, 1999, firefighters responded to a box alarm involving a townhouse fire. The initial report came in as a house fire, and it was later reported that the fire was in the basement (all firefighters did not receive the follow-up report of fire in the basement). Engine 26 (lieutenant and 3 firefighters) was the first to arrive on the scene and reported smoke showing on the front of a row of townhouses. The event quickly went from bad to worse as the firefighters entered the building.

Many lessons were learned at this tragic event and today Lieutenant Joe Morgan shares his experience and journey as he walks us through that day.
