What the Mormon religion calls spirit, the reincarnationists call soul-the entity that is the life, the intelligence and the immortal part that leaves the body at death. The reincarnationist, L. S. Cooper, wrote:

Upon going to sleep or at death, the aura is withdrawn from the physical body, and it is then possible to study it by itself to see what it is like. It has been found that . . . it is a life-size duplicate or counter part of the physical body. . . . We appear exactly as we do here because of the counterpart of the physical body. . . and realize that our consciousness can use such a form much more easily than it can a physical body.
