Sarah Horrocks does it all: she draws, writes, inks, letters and self-publishes her own comics and is a damn good critic too. We talk about how she makes comics and geek out about everything from the inks of Kyoko Okazaki to the queerness of Euripides to the inks and colors of Vertigo comics.
Sarah Horrocks is an Eisner-nominated comic artist and critic from Oklahoma. She has done cover work for various Image and Boom Studio projects, as well as comics for anthologies across a spectrum of publications and publishers including the eisner-nominated Twisted Romance from Image Comics. She has written critically for Fantagraphics, ComicsAlliance, Study Group Magazine, and The Comics Journal. She co-hosted the Trash Twins podcast with fellow cartoonist Katie Skelly. Her major comics works include: Dysnomia, Hecate Snake Diaries, The Leopard, Goro, Euripedes’s The Bacchae, and her latest work Aorta. Most of these can be purchased in either print or digital editions through her site: http://Mercurialblonde.squarespace.com.
