Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation is the host of "Gullah/Geechee Riddim Radio" on behalf of the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition. In this segment in celebration of "Black History/African Heritage Month" during this "International Year of People of African Descent," Queen Quet will discuss Gullah/Geechee waterways traditions from the past and current efforts to keep these traditions underway. Included in this piece will be the stories of "Black resort towns" in the Gullah/Geechee Nation, the Gullah/Geechee Fishing Association, and the connections to other transAtlantic communities that came about through the navigation of waterways by African boatmen.
