Macon native Jessica Lanier Walden was born to a family of music executives who managed artists Otis Redding, the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.  She is a dedicated community advocate who has lived her entire life in Central Georgia, and a cum laude graduate in Journalism from Georgia State University.  She is passionate about the sense of place and purpose instilled by her region, which has defined her nearly 20-year career and volunteer service in being a candidate with a fresh voice serving with integrity the people in District 144.  Jessica’s career began in public relations and events at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. She later worked as a writer and Editor-in-Chief for several local print publications, including Houston County Magazine and Macon’s 11th Hour.  Served as Director of Communications and Outreach for the College Hill Alliance, that oversaw the successful College Hill Corridor project which leveraged over $200 million in a two-square-mile area of Macon’s most historic neighborhoods.  Also, she served as the first Marketing Chair for the Bragg Jam Festival.  She is a graduate of Leadership Georgia and Leadership Macon; recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the “40 under 40” in the State of GA and Macon Magazine as one of “five under 40.”  Currently, she serves on Leadership Georgia’s Board of Trustees and The Otis Redding Foundation Board of Directors.  Jessica developed a deep-seated loyalty to her hometown through its incredible music heritage and untold stories and her platform represents her passion and fresh voice for progress in the Heart of Georgia right here on Happy Talk Radio.
