"Walking In The Light" will be featuring weekly a collection of Bible Stories for children by Shelby Faith on Happy Talk Radio.  

"Shelby Faith served as a faithful deaconess for many years in the St. Louis , Missouri, congregation of the Church of God until her death in 2011.  The first story I will read to you from her series will be "The Creation."

What are the Beatitudes?  The Beatitudes teach us how to love, respect and treat each other - relationships.  Walk by faith; not by sight.

Jesus began His Sermon on the Mount listing eight spiritual traits that will lead to true happiness.  They are: 

  1)  Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven 

  2)  Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted

  3)  Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth

  4)  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled

  5)  Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy; Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God; Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be call sons of God; Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven; Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. (Matthew 5:4-11)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  (John 3:16)
