Today, on Dr. Martin Luther King's Day, his legacy is remembered on Happy Talk.  So let's Lift Every Voice and Sing, reflect on his renown "I Have a Dream" Speech, Let Freedom Ring and We Shall Overcome words of empowerment.

MLK Events in Macon and Middle GA on 1/15/2024:

MLK Breakfast at 8:00 am - Tubman Museum at 310 Cherry St. sponsored by  MLK Breakfast Committee                         MLK March at 11:00 am - March originates at four locations (Booker T. Washington Center (401 Monroe Street); Memorial Gym (2465 2nd Street); Rosa Jackson Recreation Center (1211 Maynard St.); and Frank Johnson Recreation Center (2227 Mercer University Dr.).

All marches from each direction will meet-up at City Hall at 12 pm.

Stewart Chapel AME Church (887 Forsyth St.) will have a ceremony immediately following the march at 12:00 pm. 

MLK Block Party by Macon Black Culture at 12 pm - 2:00pm at Rosa Parks Square (across from City Hall)

(music, food and bounce houses for children onsite)
