Toni McKinley, Winner of the first HEALing THrough Art contest returns to HEALing THrough Hurt to speak about a tradgic time in her life
In her words:
"Here in Texas I had the opportunity to testify at a committee hearing at the state capital about how the abortion industry hurt me. At the age of 18 I was coerced to abort my baby. I agreed to have an abortion hoping that the doctors and nurses would help me with the coercion and find me resources so I could keep my baby. Instead I was met with force. While being held down and drugged against my will I screamed for them to stop. An abortion was performed on me while I was out. Today I stand representing many other girls and women who have been forced to abort their child in the United States of America. Abortion clinics must be held accountable for the harm they have done to others and one step is insuring that they increase the safety of abortion clinics with stricter regulations. This is why I support HB2 that passed in the Texas state capital Friday night."
