HEALing THrough Hurt Welcomes Advocate/Author Meleny Thomas

[Growing up, I always knew I was different. I just didn’t know what my calling was and when it would appear. But I later found out that it (my calling) had always been there. I hid my talents and I was unwilling to share my thoughts, no matter how powerful or transformational they were. However, despite the fear and confusion, one day, God spoke to me and said, “I need YOU to step up so others can be set free from the life of conformity.” His proclamation seeped through my soul in the form of writing. And that’s where I found life and it was so exciting! The rejection I received from peers and the people I looked to for direction couldn’t shatter my purpose. In fact, those experiences helped to birth my empowerment organization, L.O.V.E International Network, where I challenge individuals to raise the B.A.R- Believe, Achieve and Receive in their lives. But I wasn’t done yet!  I knew that I wasn’t alone in feeling paralyzed by fear and confusion and I needed to share wisdom and honesty to break some barriers. So, I wrote my book, “101 Truths for You” to further inspire and encourage people and remind them of their reason to live.]

Meleny Thomas is originally from Curacao and Barbados.  She now resides in Maryland and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with a specialization in Nonprofit Management and Leadership
