  • In his personal/ anecdotal memoir From the Bench to the Boardroom, Michael MacDonald, now residing in NJ, chronicles his transformation from an underdog scholarship athlete at Rutgers University’s high-level Division I basketball program, to a very successful executive career at Xerox –

rising to the highest levels of the company, and then to chairman/CEO of Medifast – with key roles in turning around both companies and leading teams to success.

His story begins with humble origins in Philadelphia – he was a H.S. basketball player - who worked incredibly hard,  and says nothing else in his life prepared MacDonald as well as sports:

  • Instilling in him a core work ethic, communication skills, the idea of working for the greater good/putting the team ahead of one’s self
  • Which took him from a shoe leather sales beat at Xerox to the top echelons of businesses – ultimately turning around companies, and building teams to lead them to prosperity.
