There is much to say about this extraordinary young Lady.  Yours truly is reticent to describe Kayla as "young" - because when anyone describes another as young or old - it could sound patronizing.  Nothing is further from the truth in this regard.  To MANY of us, it's breathtaking that Kayla grasps so much truth in her music.  A truth that you can feel.  Her melodies, her wisdom, the serenity and flow of "Coevolve" - it's like something you'd expect from an artist twice her age.

This is not just one writer's opinion.  Many are convinced that Kayla has some kind of reincarnated lineage.  No doubt, she would call what we're witnessing as God's peace.  She credits God with directing ALL that she does.  Toward that end, her CD release party will be held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.  It's there than this pianist, composer, producer, and music director will shine BEST.  Being surrounded by those whose beliefs she shares.

So you know more about Kayla: she was actually climbing toward the piano at 10 months.  Visualize that :)  Mom, Penny, and Dad - legendary Contemporary Jazz saxophonist, Kim - recognized the talent in the strongest of ways.  She was given lessons at six and thereafter observed her Dad's musical journey.  In all aspects.  Probably this is where Kayla gets that sense of calm.  She has witnessed a lot - so much doesn't surprise her as it would others who are carving out a musical career.

She also has that Summa Cum Laude from Howard University.  And a debut single that went #1 ten weeks after it launched.  Also, she oversees much sacred music at Grace Brethren Church in her native Maryland.  Stevie Wonder knows her - so does Gladys Knight.  Trippin N' Rhythm loves her - and you will, too!
