Some of us are blessed to have known Gerald Veasley in the context of our PHILLY roots.  That we share such a glorious hometown, full of some of the richest history in Jazz, is a source of tremendous joy and pride.  Gerald, visionary/entrepreneur that he is, decided to do something about Philadelphia Jazz history - and how it could benefit fellow fans.  Beyond the City of Brotherly Love limits.

So, "Jazz Philadelphia" has launched!  It's a way for people and companies to come together to figure out how we can best serve Jazz.  And, truthfully, how it can serve US.  Many of us are tired of our favorite genre lingering in the shadows.  There is SO MUCH we can do to promote and push ALL of our efforts to the front burner.  THIS inaugural event will show us how.  Or at least give us a road map.

Gerald has a goal in mind with JP.  He wants to make sure that we know the heritage of Jazz in Philly - get to know (anew) the artists that have paved the way - and focus on who the New Blood is that will keep our music sizzling for years to come.  Our guest is not new to service TO musicians.  He has been involved for years with the Grammy organization - in various roles.  If you know anything about his dedicated promotion of "South" in town, then you understand his commitment to excellence.  He has undertaken a HUGE role in re-introducing Jazz to a city that sorely needs him.  If you know Gerald's resume, then this effort is even MORE impressive.  Because he could just lay back and let somebody ELSE do it!  But nope!  The gifted bass virtuoso, who has worked with Joe Zawinul, Grover Washington, Jr., McCoy Tyner, Teddy Pendergrass and WAY more, wants to focus on those who need attention.  So, "Jazz Philadelphia" was born!

Join us at NOON on 10/24.  Gerald visits at ONE Eastern time.  #PhillyRocks
