First, let me inform you that there is only SO much that can be said in terms of bio here - especially in regard to John Pizzarelli.  BUCKY Pizzarelli and his wife need to be mentioned.  We are eternally grateful for the gift that they gave the world.  And for Bucky's influence on his glorious son.

When you're playing guitar at six and hearing Jazz greats through your childhood that excite you, chances are that you'll take that music through your teens and into adulthood.  The resume: In the 80's, the journey began with recorded music. LIVE, John has opened for Dave Brubeck, Rosemary Clooney, and Ramsey Lewis - who remains a friend & collaborator.  In '93, our guest was tapped by Frank Sinatra for his international tour - then joined him for that special 80th Birthday celebration at Carnegie Hall.

Four projects with RCA - then John signed with Telarc in 2000. Here, his already wonderful reputation - and repertoire - expanded.  The work alongside Legends flowed as did effortless playing,  Interpretations of fellow masters like Jobim, Joni Mitchell and the Beatles: he was astounding.  John's "Midnight McCartney" followed a partnership with Sir Paul on his "Kisses on the Bottom."  Months after work together, Paul asked The Other John to record his lesser known tunes to suit a Jazz style.  Mr. P. loved the idea and so did critics.

THIS is the way John Pizzarelli has rolled since recording.  His CHIEF inspiration and joy?  Nat King Cole. JP's latest album is the third tribute to an Icon - this one to celebrate NKC's 100th Birthday on 3/17.  Favorties, the nicely unusual and two originals will make your ears thank you.  Vocals, musicianship (Trio), and love prevail.  Hear love HAPPEN on 2/8!  We start at Noon - John joins us at ONE!
