Mariea Antoinette is a National recording artist and the world’s premier soulful, Jazz Funk Harpist. Ms. Antoinette's is a native of San Diego, California. Mariea Antoinette, who began playing piano at age seven, and sung in the gospel choir in church for many years, credits several key teachers in her development as a harpist. During middle school, she heard visiting harpist play Debussy’s “First Arabesque” and was instantly transfixed, so she soon after started private lessons. Her diverse repertoire consists of Classical, Smooth Jazz, and R&B music. She has performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles with the Southeast Symphony Orchestra as principle harpist since 2007. Mariea’s latest addition to her repertoire includes a strolling electric harp, which is an absolute hit with the audiences. She also performs with Jazz In Pink, a hot and multi-talented all star female jazz band. Her solo performances have taken her across the US as well as abroad. Attending U.C.S.D. for undergraduate work majoring in music, then on to University of Arizona Masters work in harp performance. Ms. Antoinette credits her dynamic performance technique to her Russian teacher Elena Mashkovtseva. Just recently Mariea was featured on the July 2015 cover of Jazz in M.E.E. magazine, Mariea has Played for the First Lady Of the United States Michelle Obama and President Barack Obama at the President’s Inaugural Events. Public and State events include Walt Disney Concert Hall, California Board of Governors, National Executive Tour, Mercedes Benz- Introducing Maybach". United States Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin. United States Attorney General Kamala Harris, United States Congress woman Diane Watson. She performed in Africa as Guest of the Minister of Culture in Cameroon. In 2014 Mariea was inducted into the Women’s Museum of California.
