X: THC is more than just a music group, X: THC has a proven track record of making a difference in the world, not only with their music, but with their message… "Fall Down Seven Times, Rise Up Eight." The music of X: THC has become the signature anthem of the non-profit website, Rise Up Eight. It is the musical backdrop to the interviews of musical luminaries that have overcame adversity and succeeded in the industry, in order to inspire others to never give up.
X: THC's co-founder, Chris (Ninjaboy) Liang spent his childhood sojourning from London to Hong Kong, and from Singapore to the remote regions of Borneo, becoming a martial arts practitioner of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do under the tutelage of masters authorized by Lee himself.
Continuing his sojourn to New York City, he applied the wisdom learned through martial arts to his music. He became a Promax award winning audio mixer, sound designer, composer and sound recordist mixing promos for HBO’s The Sopranos and hundreds of spots and other programming for Syfy, HBO, USA, Spike, Travel Channel, HGTV, Food Network and Discovery, along with credits including Dead Pigs, Hold The Dark, In Case of Emergency, Over Oceans, Myanmar: Bridges to Change, Suicide Killers, The Wall, Kiss Me Again, Outlands and Behind The Shadows. Films featured at Sundance, Tribeca Film Festival and BANFF.
It was in New York City that Liang met Michael Nova, the founding member of X: THC, who was in the process of creating the innovative multimedia music and film.
