The third person of the Godhead, The Holy Spirit

One of the most precious and poplar themes in the Bible is Love. For God is love. I Corinthians 13:13 gives us one of the greates messages on Love.  God is love.The life application translation reads, "If I could speak in any language in heaven or earth but didn't love others, I would only be making meaninless noise like a loud gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I knew all the mysteries of the future and knew everything about everybody but didn't love others, what good would I be?  And if I had the gift of faith so I could speak to a mountain and make it move, without love I would be no good to anybody.....I Corinthians 13: 1-13.(read)

The first assuring truth of the gospel is that God is Love. This great truth has been revealed to mankind in the Word of God. The words "God is Love" are probably the greatest words to ever have been written. His love is eternal and has no beginning. It can never be measured. We can never say that the love of God came forth by or because of our love to Him.  His love came first!  His love is eternal and can never be measured by the things of time.
