The Third person of the Godhead, The Holy Spirit. The Limiting of the Spirit.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.  Ephesians 4:30.

Do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, He is the one who has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. We have considered the Lordship, the Life, the Leading, the Liberty, and the love of the Holy Spirit. We are assured victory in these areas because He has given us the Holy Spirit and it is the Holy Spirit that will accomplish this as we submit to His Lordship.The Lord knew that in our own selves, we could not accomplish this, but it would take the power of the Holy Spirit working in us to cause us to do what He would have us to do.

How can we limit the Holy Spirit? By failing to yield to Him, by living an unclean life and by walking by the flesh.  The Holy Spirit can only dwell in a clean vessel. He cannot dwell where there is sin and defilement. Before He takes up HIs abode in any man a mighty inward change must first be accomplished. His holiness will only permit Him to dwell only in a holy place. God had to create in man a clean heart before the Holy Spirit could enter.
