The Beatitudes -Requirements for true greatness

Our study tonight is on the Beatitudes.  After Jesus completed the temptation in the wilderness His public ministry began. And, from that time Jesus began to preach, repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This was lso the beginnng of His call of the 12 diciples. The scriptures tell us that Jesus began to heal all that came to him that was sick. However, the disciples did not participate in these healings and deliverances. One day as the crowds began to gather, Jesus went up the mountside with his disciples and at down to teach them.

Read Matthew 5th Chapter verses 1-12. This sets for the government or the foundation for everything the decisciple would encounter walking with Jesus. He taught them how to walk in the blessings of God and rewards they would receive by doing so, showing obedience to God.
