Golden Brooks was born on December 1, 1970 in Fresno, California, USA as Golden Ameda Brooks. She is an actress and writer, known for Girlfriends (2000), Timecode (2000) and Linc's (1998). 

Earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology (with a concentration on "Media Representation of Minorities") from UC-Berkeley, where she minored in Theater. She went on to earn a Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence College. Classically trained dancer. Studied and taught ballet, jazz, and modern dance.
