For 29 years as president of OWN, The Onyx Woman Network, Ola Jackson has been a voice and given a voice to women in business via her magazine, Onyx Woman, her Your Stylish Ways blog, and her Stages with Ola jackson podcast. Just as her business has grown to include sell-out conferences and business leadership award events where she shas honored more than 300 women, her young son, who was diagnosed with autism, aso grew to be a dynamic, self-sufficient young man.

It was Mother's Day 1991 when Ola received a handmade card from her husband and son with a check that would redirect herpath from employee to business owner. Her self-employment journey began as a reulst of discovering that her only child was developmentally delayed and would require her to be accessible to meet his needs.

Today, Ola has transitioned and reinvented her career to focus on self-care for midlife women, who as the question, "What about me!?" Ola inspires other women with her podcast by profiling women who say, "I'm not done yet!" Ola isn't done either as she embarks on writing a new book titled, HomeGirl CEO, and a speaking career to encourage other women to live their dreams at any age. Ola joins John on today's show to look back on where she's been and to look foward to what is ahead.
