Gary Russo: Lawyer Turned Author of Kids Books

Gary Russo is a Florida attorney who has been telling children's stories for more than thirty years. A journalism graduate from the University of Florida (UF), he went on to receive his doctorate in law from UF while his wife, Cathy, taught elementary school. Presently working in the children’s ministry at Family Church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Gary is affectionately known as Mr. Donuts - a wacky, fun loving, prize giving character in the children's ministry. To his children and his children's friends, he is known and referred to as Pop.

Gary and Cathy have been married for 38 years and have 5 grandchildren (so far): Boone, Vivienne, Athan, Oliver and Zekiah, who also goes by Ziggy. Gary and his three children have endeavored to bring God into others lives through the stories and lessons of Ziggy the Prayer Girl. Gary joins John today to talk about how one of John's sermons sparked his interest in publishing, which has led to many open doors in the community as Gary's family has joined together to make Ziggy and her friends a published reality.
