MCMFILMS was created in 1999 by Producer/Director Michael Merino as a means to create captivating and entertaining films. Michael grew up in Washington, D.C. the son of a 5th generation Irish/German mother and Spanish-Basque father who migrated to the United States from Mexico in the 1950s. After college, Michael traveled the globe for nearly six years, living and working abroad. His travels took him from Australia to the barrios of Mexico City and to the Islands of Fiji. His adventures included the running of the bulls in Spain to being caught and detained during a coup in Fiji. In addition to his University studies, Michael also attended Rockport's International Film School and The Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. Michael is the founder/owner of MCMFILMS and began his career in 1998 producing, directing and writing for such news services as MSNBC, Reuters and Turkish Television. Michael directed his first feature, the award winning (Two Rivers Film Fest) action film "The Deal" in 2003. In 2006, Michael released the horror film "The Milkman" to critical acclaim. And, in 2008, the thriller/horror feature "502" won the coveted "Shakes" award in the Dead-time film festival. For more information, visit www.mcmfilms.net
