BEACH BOY AL JARDINE VISITS LARRY BATTSON’S WILD WORLD THIS THURSDAY AT 7 P.M. PACIFIC

BURBANK, Calif. - Dec. 6, 2010 - This coming Thursday evening, December 9th at 7:00 P.M. Pacific, 10:00 P.M. Eastern, Beach Boys co-founder Alan Jardine will be this week’s special guest on Larry Battson’s Wild World. The hour-long weekly show on Blog Talk Radio is broadcast live, worldwide on the internet at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/larry-battson, and will be available as a download immediately after the broadcast ends, for those who are unable to listen to the show when it initially airs, or would simply like to hear it again.

On Thursday’s broadcast, Battson will talk with Jardine about his legendary music career and recent activities, including his new album, A Postcard from California. A secondary theme of the show will focus on the two men’s shared interest in animals, ecology and the environment, between Battson’s commitment to his wildlife activities and Jardine’s concern for the health of the planet, with his particular focus on the California coast and its animal and ocean life. In his song, “Lookin’ Down the Coast,” from the new album, Jardine makes reference to gray whales, mountain lions, grizzly bears and sea otters, as well as the plight of the California Condor. Other cuts like “Don’t Fight the Sea” and “Tidepool Interlude” demonstrate similar concerns.

Battson and wife Cheryl wrote and published the children’s book, Baxter the Edugator. Larry, who did all of the illustrations for the book, is an accomplished wildlife illustrator and teaches classes on the subject. Jardine, for his part, also wrote a popular children’s book a few years back, Sloop John B: A Pirate's Tale, so this may be another topic of conversation, and at least another common interest. The Battsons also host the acclaimed show called Our Beast Friends, a live presentation that features animals from around the world.
