Harvey Kubernik’s work has been published over the last third of a century in Melody Maker, The Los Angeles Free Press, Crawdaddy, Musician, Goldmine, MIX, The Los Angeles Times, MOJO, Record Collector, Classic Rock, HARP, Discoveries, Uncut, andHits.

His print work has appeared in the book anthologies The Rolling Stone Book Of The Beats and Drinking With Bukowski. Kubernik has authored two books, This Is Rebel Music: The Harvey Kubernik InnerViews andHollywood Shack Job: Rock Music In Film and On Your Screen, both published by the University of New Mexico Press. 

In 2006 Kubernik was a featured speaker discussing audiotape preservation and archiving at the special hearings called by the Library of Congress, held in Hollywood, California. In 2007, he wrote the text and conducted an extensive 32-page interview with Brian Wilson for his concert tour program. In 2002 Kubernik wrote the liner notes for the Ramones’ End Of The Century CD on Rhino/WMG. In 2006 he penned the liner notes for the Water Records’ reissue of Allen Ginsberg's Kaddish on CD. Kubernik in 2008 wrote the liner notes to the Carole KingTapestry deluxe edition 2 CD-set issued in April via the Epic/Ode/Legacy label from Sony Music Entertainment.
