Halloween

Frankenstein and Dracula,
were strollin down my block
the wolf man and the mummy
were just about to knock
~
Elvira was among them
I know this can't be  good
I saw a witch & ghostie
within my neighborhood
~
I saw a reaper laughing
and much to my chagrin
he came onto my porch
but I wouldn't let him in
~
I saw an ogre, 'hind the bush
a goblin in my drive
I felt my heart begin to race
I nearly ran & cried
~
a black cat walked across my path
The Devil  crossed my lawn
The color in my face did pale
I hope I live til dawn.
~
I quietly opened up the door
and reached my hand outside
the jack-o-lantern glared at me
much to my surprise
~
I left an offering on the stoop
and quickly got inside
a bowl of treats I left for them
so I could go and hide.
