Photobucket Today on book Talk Radio our special guest is Danielle Lawrence Kennedy author of a book called Wisdom Warriors. Mother Nature is personified in her work. The faces are archetypal, of Mother Nature herself, not human. Danielle Lawrence Kennedy is inspired by the interplay of color and form and texture: tapestries and silk, bones and gems, turtle shells and ocean creatures… She has collected objects from nature for as long as she can remember. Her work is amazingly real and magical, a place where the simple and the profound can merge. Her intention is to create a place from which strength, wisdom, harmony and mystery can emanate… the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This work also documents Danielle's journey to connect with spirit and her own authenticity. Once each piece is complete she writes the thoughts and inspirations that continue to express a deeper meaning. Danielle Lawrence Kennedy attended the San Francisco Art Inst. And UCLA School of Fine Art in the late 60's and early 70's- quite an adventure! These standing figures first came to her in dreams, inspired by many summers in New Mexico. Danielle loves the art and tradition of the American Indians and the stark, wild beauty of the Southwest. She spent many days walking the land. Danielle Lawrence Kennedy practices the art of meditation and the journey into the shamanic tradition. She has now created close to 1000 Wisdom Warriors. Through these figures she expresses her deep love of mother nature and her love of wisdom in all forms.
