This documentary gives a different look at Marilyn Monroe from inside her head using notes and letters that she generated juxtaposed with the actions and assertions of those around her. Whether you see Marilyn Monroe as troubled, a sexpot, tragic, lost, or a bubbleheaded blond you are sure to be enlightened with this kaleidoscope of well-interpreted readings of her words by brilliant actors.
I have always believed Ms. Monroe's story was slightly tragic from a psychological perspective, but her life was much more complex. She was so much more intelligent and strategic than she has often been credited. She was like all of us who want to achieve some major mark in life, to be loved and respected, while haveing someone we can trust with our deepest thoughts, desires and life. She is an absolute representative of all of us when we are betrayed, let down, belittled, and ignored when the world refused to see past some physical representation of our true selves. Whether we are outside the average height, weight, build, and appearance of some kind. We are all more than our "meatsuits," and Marilyn Monroe went above and beyond her celebrity she gave us the opportunity to look inside ourselves and accept our incredible self-worth, no matter who we are.
