Orlando City enters the international break undefeated and untied after defeating the Philadelphia Union, 2-1, on Saturday night at the club’s brand new purple palace. It’s always nicer to talk about wins than losses (or draws) and so here we are to break down a thoroughly satisfying win over another Eastern Conference rival. Goals, passes, individual battles and our Man of the Match picks — we discussed it all. We also talked about the Orlando Pride’s emphatic 9-0 preseason-opening win over Stetson University and the start of the USL season.

Speaking of that, Orlando City B Head Coach Anthony Pulis stopped by to talk about Saturday’s upcoming I-4 Derby, the challenges of coaching a USL side made up of league players, MLS loanees, and deserving academy standouts. It’s always a pleasure talking to the coach, who provided quite a bit of insight into the workings of his team in the Orlando City pyramid.

And we touch on the upcoming USMNT Hex games against Honduras and Panama, as well as the ICC match between Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain slated for Orlando’s Camping World Stadium in July. All in all, it was a workmanlike effort from your PawedCast hosts this week.

Here’s how it all unfolded:

0:11- Orlando City gets big games from Larin, Rivas, MPG, Spector, Nocerino, Bendik and more in a win over the Union. Pride win their preseason opener, and I-4 Derby talk.

33:28- Anthony Pulis hops on to talk about his OCB side, the disparity that makes the USL great, rivalry games, facing Bodz and Pato, and much more.

49:55- USMNT in a must-win situation in the Hex and the ICC comes to the City Beautiful!

Stop by next week as we’ll be preparing for the Columbus Crew!
