Orlando City did not follow up the big win at New York with a home victory against D.C. United. Instead, the Lions fell at home to United and, as usual, there was controversy. It didn’t cost Orlando a win — poor finishing and set piece defending did that — but there were some items that affected the final outcome. Anyway, it gave us an opportunity to try out a new sound effect. We broke down the game and made our Man of the Match selections. We also discussed OCB’s first ever USL League One game and touched on the Pride’s preseason match against South Florida.

Speaking of the Pride, Head Coach Marc Skinner was gracious enough to jump on with us and discuss the preseason, Sydney Leroux’s chances of playing this season, potential signings after the European season ends, the World Cup absences, and much more.

The mailbag is light this week but I still managed to get worked up about it. Plus, we give you our key match-ups and score predictions for this Saturday’s game against the Colorado Rapids. Both Dave and I were right last week but we picked different scores this week so both of us — like Orlando City — can’t go on a winning streak this weekend.

Here’s how show No. 156 went:

0:15 - A triple play of bad (or at least questionable) decisions gifted D.C. a goal and I’ve got exclusive transcripts of what was said on the pitch that may or may not be accurate.

41:18 - Marc Skinner is every bit as personable and chill as Tom Sermanni was and he really wants to win every single game this season.

59:34 - Our mailbag touches on controversial calls and we’re looking ahead to Kei Kamara and how much of a jerk he’ll be on Saturday.
