In this episode of The Grassroots Mouthpiece Show I talk with Joe Ward a legend in Alabama politics especially education. Joe Ward says he's the longest held Democrat held in captivity. Joe Ward was a mainstay at state Board of Education meetings for over 33 years. Ward was the AEA field manager for the northern tier of county and city school systems from 1987-2004 and had began working for AEA in 1971 when he was Executive Director of the Huntsville Education Association.  Ward is responsible for AEA field services in the Shoals. In 1973, Ward became the UniServe, or recuiting, director for Madison and Jackson county local AEA affiliates. Prior to coming to Alabama Ward was a National Education Association Representative in Kansas and Florida. During his 33 years, Ward led a successful three-day boycott of Scottsboro schools.
