Join me with guest Guy Arcuri talking about overcoming the trauma of a toxic mother. Guy grew up in a household with a toxic mother, then left home and got married at the age of 20. In his late 20's he realized he was being just as "abusive" to his own wife as his mother was to him. So, he sought help: intensive therapy, a surrogate father/mentor, reading and major support from his wife in experimenting on how to change and heal. He is author of: "Toxic Mothers: A Son’s Guide to Healing and Moving On" which tells the story of what he went through in order to help others who are in the same situation. Guy hold retreats for men centered on how to love others well, how to know when you are NOT loving others well, how to develop integrity and virtue and much more. He also coaches teachers and tutors people of all ages, helps high school juniors and seniors organize themselves for college application essays and is owner of Help Yourself Publishing Company, LLC, where he coaches other writers to accomplish their goals. He is currently writing a second and related book on "isolating insulation".
