If we are going to WAKE UP THE Black Community - the AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY, we must have dominion and control on our OWN health and fitness. Today we are going to reveal, explain, illuminate and simplify the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The acronym F.I.T.N.E.S.S. stands for Frequent Intense Training Nutrition Enthusiasm Stretching (flexibility) and Sleep (rest). FREQUENT means recurrence of a given event in a given time, an event happening often or many times, occurring at short, brief, concise interval, habitual, or regular. The word INTENSE means life in high or utmost degree of mental possession of the mind by an interest, study, or pursuit. A condition, degree or step in a series of intenseness, passionate, fervent, fiery, or extreme. TRAINING is a series of events, a stage, period, or step of a gradual process. A plan of action, purpose, intention, aim or intended effect or power to produce results, rules, methods, ideas, or prescribed mode that is subject to discipline, study, regulation, correction and instruction or teaching in order to aim or directly make one proficient, skilled, fit, ready, prepared or in top condition. NUTRITION is the chemical and physical processes involved in the ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation, and excretion of nutrients. The study of thought, food and drink as related to the needs of the body. ENTHUSIASM is EN-THEO-US or GOD in us. You have to have enthusiasm to obtain and maintain physical fitness. STRETCHING or flexibility is required to promote growth, strength and recovery. And finally SLEEP or rest and relaxation is the MOST important of the seven components of fitness. Sleep is where healing and repair and recovery takes place. Sleep is when the body rejuvenates, replenish and restores necessary nutrients which aid in GROWTH.
