TONIGHT WE WILL REVEAL, EXPLAIN, ILLUMINATE AND SIMPLFY THE FIFTH (5TH) and final CAUSE OF INDIVIDUAL INCARCERATION AND PRISONER REENTRY;
SOCIAL PRESSURE...specifically...PEER PRESSURE, authority figures, culture pressure and relationships
So far we've talked about #1LOW EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT OR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE; #2 EMOTIONAL DRAMA AT A YOUNG THAT LEADS TO EMOTIONAL TRAUMA AT A OLD AGE; #3 THE NEED TO EARN or THE PRESSURE TO MAKE MONEY and we discussed #4 ENVIRONMENT. Tonight we're going to discuss the fifth and final cause for individual incarceration and re-incarceraton; SOCIAL PRESSURE or peer pressure!!
The various SOCIAL (peer) PRESSURES that we encounter will determine if an individual functions as a productive member of society or not. Fitting in with the social norms, finding people who share your likes and dislikes and support you and your goals will help keep you out of prison and assist previously incarcerated individuals in their transition back into society. Learning to anticipate situations in which you may experience negative social pressure or peer pressure and rehearsing ways to STAND UP to that negative pressure will prepare you for the real thing.
