Judaism very subtly corrupts otherwise good commandments by adopting a false practice. By this prohibition against uttering God's name, the Jews subtly suggest they know god's name and that it is secret knowledge that can only be had if you take up the Cabala. Masonry also uses this ploy to entice.

When you talk about Jewish Mysticism to non-Jews they mainly ask questions like: Do you believe in heaven and hell? In angels or the devil? What happens to the soul after death? What is the nature of GOD and the universe? The answers to questions like these define most religions; in fact, I have heard some people say that the purpose of religion is to answer these kinds of questions. Yet in Judaism, most of these cosmological issues are wide open to personal opinion. The areas of Jewish thought that most extensively discuss these issues, Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism, were traditionally not even taught to people until the age of 40, when they had completed their education in TORAH and TALMUD.

When the Protestant Reformers corrected some of the egregious and most blasphemous teachings of the Paganist Roman church, they did not address the text-language problem of the scriptures because they were primarily interested in getting Bibles printed for the common people. Sadly, the masoretic text was used for the O.T., and still is the basis of English versions which are all printed by Jewish publishing companies. One has to search for a copy of the Bible which Jesus used, namely the Greek Septuagint.
