WE HAVE THIS TREASURE HIDDEN IN EARTH VESSELS

THE GOD SPARK OR CHRISTOS IS IN EARTH VESSELS!

We have this treasure - The treasure of THE CHRISTOS OR CHRIST; the rich and invaluable truths AND POWER that comes from being in the right position!

But what is Christ or Christos? The word "treasure" is applied to those truths on account of their inestimable worth. Paul in the previous verses had spoken of the gospel, the knowledge of Jesus Christ, as full of glory, and infinitely precious.

The word earth refers to our weak and feeble bodies that are decaying and dying. We are fragile, and prone to mistakes, accidents, and as being altogether unworthy to hold a treasure so valuable; as if valuable diamonds and gold were placed in vessels of earth of coarse composition, easily broken, and liable to decay.
