WHAT IS PURE UNDEFILED RELIGION??

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

THIS IS PURE (clean) RELIGION............

Pure = katharos = clean from corruption

Religion = threskeia = external religious ceremonies

IS TO VISIT THE.....

Fatherless = bereft of a father, of parents, teacher, guide or guardian...ie...orphaned

Widows = sterile, barren

Affliction = thlipsis = pressing together, pressure, oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress

The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. Psa 146:9
