"SKIA": ADUMBRATION AND THE INTERCEPTOR OF THE LIGHT

ADUMBRATE which comes from the Greek "skia" which means shadow, shade, interceptor of light, which is what this flesh body, earth or dirt suit is. I'm teaching on Romans Chapter 7 and 8. My primary text is 2 Cor 5:4: For we that are in [this] tabernacle (BODY) do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

WHY DO WE GROAN WHILE IN THE BODY?

WHY ARE WE BURDENED WHILE IN THE BODY?

WHY DOES THE FLESH WAR AGAINST THE SPIRIT?

WHY DOES THE SPIRIT WAR AGAINST THE FLESH?

WHY ARE SOME VESSELS OF HONOR?

The English word Tabernacle or Body comes from the Greek word "skenos" which means a tabernacle or tent of the human body, in which the soul dwells as in a tent, and which is taken down at death. "skenos" comes from the Greek word "skene" which means tent, tabernacle, (made of green boughs, or skins or other materials); which comes from the Greek word "skeuos" which means a vessel either of quality, a chosen instrument OR an assistant in accomplishing an evil deed, which comes from the Greek word "skia" WHICH MEANS SHADOW, SHADE CAUSED BY THE INTERCEPTION OF LIGHT, an image cast by an object and representing the form of that object, a sketch, outline, adumbration!
