KIRIKA......CIRICE.....CHIRCHE...."CHURCH"

Here's a quotation from Fossilized Customs:

The Pagan Sources of Popular Customs by Lew White (p.100):

“The Old English word was CIRICE, and you will see it spelled CHIRCHE written above many old "church" entrances throughout England. This is from the West Germanic KIRIKA, which is based on the Greek deity's name, CIRCE. Circe was famous among Pagans for turning men into pigs, or other animals, using drugs.” Any encyclopedia, or dictionary of mythology, will reveal who Circe was. She was the goddess-daughter of Helios, the Sun-deity! Again, another form of Sun-worship, this time the name of the daughter of the Sun-deity, had become mixed with the Messianic Belief.”
