What does God say about involvement with the occult?

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 NIV. "When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritualist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord."

Like the good angels, evil angels are also organized. The Apostle Paul said that the Christian is battling a highly organized enemy in the spirit world. 

For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). 

Organized Enemy - This speaks of an organized enemy. They are broken down into the categories of rulers, authorities, cosmic powers, and spiritual forces. All of this implies organization. 

Rulers And Other Ranks - The "rulers" spoken of here are those of the highest rank. Obviously if there are rulers, there must those who are ruled over. The "authorities" would be a separate category from the rulers. 

Who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels, authorities, and powers having been made subject to Him (1 Peter 3:22).
