VITALISM = The Metaphysical Benefits of Optimizing Your Life With Zoeism = Atomist + Vitalist 

All sciences started first as philosophies.Democritus is the first philosopher to say an atom (i.e. an indivisible unit) is the building block of the universe. This is essentially the watchmakers world view , which Newton brought to a Mechanical conclusion. 

Socrates was the first vitalist. A Vitalist says the world is basically energy.  

I am listening to an audio book , titled The Biology of Belief, by Bruce H Lipton PhD. He was doing stem cell research back in 1968. 

I am just blown away by the state of our science. We struggle to understand what animates our Existence. However, beliefs, and belief systems is a particular area of interest for me.

Are these two approaches to a worldview (i.e atomism and vitalism) mutually exclusive?
