At Chance two weeks old he was rushed to children's hospital in Washington DC where he underwent multiple heart surgeries and a picture of us wearing tube went viral. Now Robert and are telling Chances story and help bring awareness to CHD. Black Americans are at greater risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke than White Americans. Black women (49%) and Black men (44%). CHDs affect nearly 1% of?or about 40,000?births per year in the United States. Infant mortality rate, due to CHD for African-American infants (296 deaths; 3.78 per 10 000 live births.
