It's Okay To Say We're Smarter Than Them

Let's just be realistic here. 
I don't think Republicans or people that fall for their talking points are stupid to the point of not being able to function as adults. 

Clearly, they've figured out things like driving to and from work. They've managed to keep bills paid well enough. Some of them are even kind of good at their jobs when they're on the clock. 
When we say these people are stupid, we're talking about intellectually and philosophically. These people don't read. They don't think beyond conventional wisdom and cultural and personal biases. 

They're obsessed with arguing because they think that when we become exasperated and disengage, they "won." They think they've "stumped" us with their dazzling rhetorical performance. They aren't even smart enough to understand that we stop talking with them because we know they were never interested in having their conclusions challenged. They don't care about context, facts, data, or expertise. They care about who's the loudest and said the most words.
