Tonight's special guest is Dianna Bellerose from Los Angeles, California, originally from Bulgaria, who was physically and emotionally abused by her father. "I remember one time when I lied that I would be at a friend's house and went to see a movie," she says. "I saw him coming towards us, and I started shaking. He approached us and grabbed me by the hand and started to kick me in front of everyone. I fell on my face and when we got home, he spanked me to the point where I could not sit for a long time." In adulthood, Dianna repeated her mother's mistake. "I got in a relationship with the someone who treated me the same as my dad. I could not stand any of the abuse. My healing journey has started after my abusive relationship ended." She goes on, "I started to help victims of abuse and domestic violence in 2008 with my first book, 'Fire and Ice', which is based on my life experiences." She's now become an activist. "I felt the freedom and relaxation of my body and soul. Staying away from a toxic environment is the key to healing and rebuilding yourself." Being in recovery's great. "Right now, I feel so good, no matter what, thankfully I am given the strength to cope with everything. I have never felt so strong and confident in my life, and I am not afraid of anything that life throws my way. Every time I am able to overcome something, I am capable of conquering even the scariest things." Dianna stays busy. "I share with victims and tell them never allow yourself to be treated with disrespect and made to doubt your opinion, who you are and what is right for you. Do not settle for anything less than love and respect."
