Virginia is for lovers. That slogan says a lot in a few words about the state that was home in eight Presidents of the United States. Steeped in history, Virginia was the place where Capt. John Smith met Pocahontas, where George Washington lived in his handsome Mount Vernon homestead, and where Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson designed not only his home in Monticello but the State Capitol that is still home to the Virginia General Assembly. It is home to Shenandoah National Park, the Blue Ridge Mountains, Colonial Williamsburg, and swimming ponies, not to mention popular culinary treats culled from the Chesapeake Bay. From the capital of Richmond to the summer resort of Virginia Beach, the state sends a siren call to visitors from across the country. Hear more on Thursday, April 28, when Ryan Winfree joins Dan Schlossberg and Maryellen Nugent Lee to talk about his state. Listen live on iTunes or BlogTalkRadio.com or check out the archived show on the TRAVEL ITCH RADIO Facebook page anytime.
