Mother's Little Helper (Depression & Antidepressants)

Earlier this month, I ran across an article in my news feed on antidepressants that caught my attention, and that I thought might be a good topic for discussion.

After further investigation, I found that honestly neither the new source nor the original was necessarily all that qualified to make broad, sweeping statements about the efficacy of anti-depressants or related medications.

Regardless, I thought it might be worthwhile to look more closely at these claims, and then for Dr. Mathis to opine on the correctness and credibility of either or both posts, with regard to the use of antidepressants.

Tonight, we will discuss:

  1. The Original Referenced Article from 2008
  2. The August 2022 Article
  3. Therapy, Counterpoints and Critiques
  4. Conclusions, Closing Remarks, & Final Suggestions

We'll start off the evening with some topic-relevant Classic Rock played by Dr. Mathis, followed by Classic Rock trivia in "The Rock & Roll Shrink Recalls," followed by our topic discussion.

Please follow our bi-weekly, Wednesday evening shows, at 11 pm ET. We will have a new topic for you in two weeks!
