The National Alliance on Mental Illness is America’s largest grassroots organization improving the lives of people with mental illness through education, support and advocacy. Since 2012, NAMI Colorado Springs’ budget has grown fivefold and its programs have quadrupled. Peer-led and no-cost to the community, these programs emphasize that mental health disorders are biologically based, treatable and common — striking 1 in 5 people annually.
