Much of the education reform movement is centered around improving academic achievement in urban education. Newark, New Jersey’s largest city, has been the focus of many of these reform efforts.
Whatever the issue may be – charter schools, mayoral control, teacher evaluations, the role of foundations, or the donation from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg – you can be sure that Newark is discussing it. But the impact of these discussions goes well beyond the city borders, and can affect education throughout in New Jersey. Please join host Ray Pinney as he discusses the education reform movement in Newark with Shavar Jeffries from the Newark Advisory Board.
